VCU Health is headquartered on our VCU Medical Center Campus in downtown Richmond, but our influence extends well beyond this historic and beautiful city. We provide care and education in facilities throughout the state and our health system continues to expand. VCU Health includes the following:

VCU Medical Center - Richmond
VCU Medical Center cares for a large portion of the population of central Virginia and the Commonwealth, while also serving as a tertiary and quaternary referral center for the Mid-Atlantic region extending from the Washington, D.C. metro area south into North Carolina and West Virginia.
VCUMC has consistently ranked as the number-one hospital in the region and the state’s largest safety net hospital. We are Virginia’s only comprehensive Level 1 trauma center, verified in adult, pediatric and burn trauma care. In 2020, VCUMC was recognized as a Magnet-designated hospital for the fourth time.

VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital - South Hill
VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital is a community-owned, nonprofit hospital dedicated to leadership in health services for the south-central region of Virginia and portions of northern North Carolina. We offer quality, state-of-the-art health care in a convenient, friendly setting.
In 2023, VCU Health CMH received the Get With the Guidelines Target: Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. We have also been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as high-performing in maternity care for 2024.

VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital - Tappahannock
VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital is a 67-bed community hospital facility in the upper Middle Peninsula region. Established in 1964, the hospital became part of VCU Health in 2021. Patients in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula communities can now access additional cutting-edge technology, procedures, resources and therapies.
In 2023, VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital received an “A” grade in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for a sixth consecutive year. Our hospital proudly provides world-class patient care to approximately 80,000 people in six counties.
